| Call for an additional project partner [may
2006] |
The PrestoSpace project
invites companies working in the field of industrial vision
and audio, to apply to become a full partner in the PrestoSpace
project. The goal of the new partnership is to develop, based
on the technology described in the full call below, a system
for digitisation of 78 rpm disks that can be reproduced and
distributed commercially.
The proposal must arrive at the specified address no later
than 30/6/2006, 17:00, Paris time (GMT+2).

| TAPE: Training for Audiovisual Preservation in Europe
- Amsterdam [28th Sept- 4th Oct 2005] |
The first TAPE Workshop on management of
audiovisual collections will take place at the Royal Netherlands
Academy of Arts and Sciences in Amsterdam. The course will
take as its starting point the principle that collection managers
have to develop their own policies in which preservation and
digitization are combined so as to ensure long-term access
to materials.

TAPE Questionnaire: The TAPE partners have developed
a questionnaire to gather information on the management of
audiovisual collections in European institutions.

| Call for an additional project partner [may 2005] |
The PrestoSpace project invites companies
working in the field of film scanning, to apply to become a
full partner in the PrestoSpace project. The additional Project
Partner will take in charge the development of equipment for
fast scanning of 35mm and 16mm film, for transferring film
to data files, with a good, but not pristine quality, that
will be considered sufficient for preserving common (non-cinema)
archive films. The proposal must arrive at the specified address
no later than 15/6/2005, 17:00, Paris time (GMT+2).

| PrestoSpace User Requirements Feedback meeting in London [september
2004] |
The PrestoSpace project has hold a two-day
open meeting on 23-24 September 2004 in London. The first day
gave the results of the first six months of the project, and
on the second day there was tours of preservation facilities
and projects in the London area. The results of PrestoSpace
Questionnaire on users requirements can be founded in a public
deliverable.

The FIRST Project is organizing an International
Symposium in Brussels, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, on 1 June
2004.
FIRST - Film Restoration and Conservation Strategies – is
a Project of the European Film Archives (ACE), supported by
the European Commission. The goal of the Symposium is to promote
the exchange of ideas, policy-matters and visions among the
industry’s principal stakeholders and to present FIRST’s
conclusions. You are cordially invited to participate in the
FIRST Symposium.
